Fitment Notes

• This truss has NO pre-cut center section clearance - the differential housing opening must be trimmed to match the shape of your specific axle housing before welding; trimming is required on every installation
• Designed to accommodate the variation among 9 in. housings currently on the market - many aftermarket and custom 9 in. housings have slightly offset or centered differential positions; the universal trim-to-fit design handles this variation without requiring a housing-specific truss
• Compatible with fabricated and stamped Ford 9 in. axle housings as well as Dana 44 and other front axles using a 9 in. ring gear class differential
• Weld-on installation - welding and fabrication skills are required; installation should only be performed by a competent welder
• To prevent warping: do not weld with excessive heat, allow each weld section to cool before moving to the next, stitch weld rather than continuous bead, and work from side to side alternating weld locations across the truss
• Some grinding and fitment may be required; every axle housing varies slightly and some fabrication may be necessary

The Artec Industries TR0910 is the Ford 9 Inch Front Truss - a full-width, low-profile weld-on axle truss designed to reinforce any Ford 9 in. front axle housing and provide a flat upper link mounting surface. The Ford 9 in. is one of the most widely used axles in custom off-road and rock crawling builds, available in both factory-sourced housings and a wide variety of aftermarket fabricated housings with varying tube diameters, axle tube lengths, and differential offsets. Rather than engineering a truss around any specific housing variant, Artec designed the TR0910 to be universally trim-to-fit - the differential housing opening is not pre-cut, and the builder trims the truss to match their specific housing shape during installation. This makes the TR0910 compatible with virtually any 9 in. front housing on the market, including those with slightly offset or centered differentials that would prevent a fixed-cutout truss from fitting correctly.

The truss top is 1/4 in. thick mild steel - the same wall thickness used in Artec's vehicle-specific front truss lineup - providing meaningful axle tube protection against bending and crushing loads from rocks, stumps, and hard landings. The 10 gauge gussets reinforce the truss body while keeping overall weight reasonable. The flat upper surface runs the length of the truss and serves as a built-in upper control arm link mounting platform, eliminating the need to separately fabricate and weld upper link tabs onto the axle tubes. The low-profile design minimizes interference with chassis, body, and suspension components during full suspension travel.

While the TR0910 is named for the Ford 9 in., Artec notes it is also compatible with Dana 44 and other axles using a 9 in. ring gear class differential - expanding its utility beyond strictly Ford 9 in. sourced housings. Welding and fabrication skills are required for installation. Stitch welding in stages and allowing sections to cool between welds is strongly recommended to prevent housing warping.
