Vehicle Fitment

  • 2020-2025 Jeep Gladiator JT (All Trims: Sport, Sport S, Overland, Rubicon, Mojave, Willys, Willys Sport, High Altitude, Texas Trail, 80th Anniversary, Launch Edition, Freedom - 3.6L Pentastar V6, 4WD)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits the 3.6L Pentastar V6 Gladiator JT only - for the 3.0L EcoDiesel Gladiator JT, a separate dedicated SKU is required due to different underbody component locations and DPF exhaust routing
  • This is the rearward module of the Artec Alpha Series Bellypan system, covering the transfer case and fuel tank zones - for the forward module (oil pan and transmission coverage), see the companion Artec JT 3.6L Oil Skid with Oil Door
  • OEM gas tank skid removal is required for installation - Artec's design includes a new cross-member and tank strap that allows the OEM gas tank skid to be removed without fully dropping the fuel tank; for easiest removal, install with the tank near empty
  • A minimum 1.5" suspension lift is strongly recommended before installation to ensure adequate clearance between the skid system and the exhaust crossover pipe - installation on a stock-height vehicle is not recommended
  • On a small percentage of Gladiators (roughly 5% due to factory exhaust assembly variance), the exhaust crossover pipe may contact the skid after installation and require minor modification (heating and clamping) for clearance - this is a known and documented characteristic of this platform
  • Modular design - this rear module can be removed independently for fuel tank access and servicing without removing the entire skid system

Features

  • Part of Artec Industries' Alpha Series Bellypan System - the purpose-built underbody armor solution for the Jeep Gladiator JT, engineered using factory CAD files and 3D laser scan data for precise integration with OEM drivetrain components
  • Covers the transfer case and fuel tank - two critical and expensive components directly exposed to rock strikes, stumps, and trail debris in the rearward belly zone of the Gladiator JT
  • Constructed from 1/4" thick 6061 T6 heat-treated aluminum skid plates - aerospace-grade material chosen specifically for its combination of high strength-to-weight ratio, impact energy absorption, and shape memory (aluminum rebounds after impact; steel permanently deforms)
  • Steel brackets are fabricated from 3/16" zinc-plated steel for corrosion resistance and long-term structural integrity at all mounting points
  • CNC laser cut and CNC formed for precise, consistent geometry - designed from factory CAD files and 3D scans for exact fitment without shimming or modification
  • Replaces the OEM factory gas tank skid with the Artec aluminum skid, providing 3/4" additional ground clearance over OEM while being significantly more robust than the thin factory stamped steel skid
  • Artec's gas tank skid design allows the tank to be removed without dropping the whole tank assembly - a practical serviceability advantage over designs that require full tank removal for skid access
  • All bolts countersunk for a completely smooth underbody surface - no bolt heads or protrusions to catch on rocks or obstacles during trail use
  • Modular sub-assembly design allows the rear skid to be removed independently from the forward oil skid for fuel system servicing without disturbing the entire bellypan installation
  • 6061 T6 aluminum is noted as superior to 5052 aluminum used by competitors - the T6 heat treatment significantly increases yield and tensile strength over non-heat-treated aluminum alloys of the same thickness
  • American-made product manufactured in-house by Artec Industries in North Salt Lake, UT

Product Description

The Artec Industries JT4159 is the Alpha Series T-Case / Fuel Tank Skid Kit for the 2020-2025 Jeep Gladiator JT with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 - the rearward half of the Artec modular bellypan system, protecting the transfer case and fuel tank from undercarriage contact. It is engineered as a companion to the forward oil pan skid (JT4185 or equivalent), and together the two modules constitute the complete Artec bellypan system for the 3.6L JT Gladiator. Owners who only need the rearward zone covered, or who are building the system in stages, can purchase the JT4159 independently.

The skid plates are machined from 1/4" thick 6061 T6 heat-treated aluminum - a grade and temper meaningfully stronger than the 5052 aluminum used by competing brands. The T6 heat treatment raises the alloy's yield strength substantially compared to untreated 6061, and the material's inherent shape memory means that impacts cause deformation rather than permanent denting - the aluminum rebounds rather than staying crushed the way steel does. Steel brackets in 3/16" zinc-plated steel handle the mounting interface, providing corrosion-resistant structural connection points to the factory frame. All bolts are countersunk, producing a completely flat, snag-free underbody surface. The entire system was designed using factory CAD files and 3D laser scans for OEM-level fit precision.

Two installation requirements are critical to communicate before purchase. First, a minimum 1.5" suspension lift is strongly recommended - the Artec system sits higher than the OEM skids to gain that 3/4" clearance improvement, and at stock ride height, the exhaust crossover pipe lacks adequate clearance on a meaningful percentage of vehicles. Second, OEM gas tank skid removal is required, though Artec's included cross-member and tank strap design allows this to be done without fully dropping the fuel tank - installation is significantly easier with the tank near empty. On approximately 5% of Gladiators, the exhaust crossover pipe will also require minor modification (heating and compressing with a clamp) to clear the skid, due to factory assembly variance at the Jeep plant. Both the lift requirement and the crossover pipe consideration are consistent across all documented JT Bellypan installations.
