Weight: 9.6 lb

Type: Axles

Vehicle Fitment

  • 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL and JL Unlimited (Sport, Sahara, Rubicon, 4xe, 392) - M220 rear axle only
  • Compatible transmissions: all Rubicon, Sport, and Sahara models with manual transmission; all automatic transmission models with a Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
  • NOT compatible with the M200 rear axle - verify your axle code before ordering

Fitment Notes

  • A minimum of 1.5" of suspension lift is recommended; at least 1/2" bump stop extensions are also required - check clearances before installing
  • Welding is required, including welding to the cast steel center section of the differential housing - moderate pre-heating and post-heating with a normal MIG welder is recommended; only a competent welder should perform installation
  • Some grinding and minor fitment adjustment may be required, as individual axles can vary slightly
  • NOT tested on non-US Jeep JL models or right-hand drive configurations
  • Ships as bare steel - painting or powder coating is required after welding to prevent corrosion

Features

  • PATENTED APEX peaked-shape top design provides significantly more rigidity than flat-top truss designs, eliminating long weld seams that can cause axle warping during installation
  • Drop-in fitment - simply place the truss on the axle and begin welding; no puzzle-piece assembly or jigging required
  • Engineered directly from 3D model data provided by Dana Corp and the Jeep OEM for exceptional fitment accuracy and clearance with surrounding components
  • Spans end to end between OEM coil buckets, reinforcing the axle at its weakest points - the area between the coil perches and over the differential housing
  • 70% less welding required compared to previous Artec truss designs - reduces install time, heat input, and risk of axle warping
  • Dimpled holes strategically reduce weight while increasing panel rigidity
  • All long seams are CNC precision-bent in-house, eliminating the need to weld them during installation
  • CNC precision laser-cut from 3/16" mild steel for a lightweight, high-strength result
  • Made in the USA

Specifications

  • Application: 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU rear M220 axle reinforcement truss

Product Description

The Artec Industries JL4502 is the PATENTED APEX Rear Axle Truss for the 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL's M220 rear axle. The APEX design represents a generational leap in axle truss engineering - the unique peaked-shape top dramatically increases rigidity over flat-top designs while eliminating the long weld seams that cause warping and extend installation time. Engineered from 3D model data sourced directly from Dana Corp and the Jeep OEM, the JL4502 drops onto the axle and is ready to weld - no complex assembly or alignment jigging required.

The truss spans the full width of the axle between the OEM coil buckets, reinforcing the area over the differential and between the coil perches where the M220 housing is structurally weakest. Dimpled holes reduce weight without sacrificing panel rigidity. At 70% less welding than previous truss designs, installation is faster, cooler, and more consistent. A minimum 1.5" lift and 1/2" bump stop extensions are required before installation - check clearances carefully. Welding to the cast differential center section is required; pre-heating and post-heating are recommended. Ships bare steel; paint or powder coat after installation. Not compatible with the M200 axle.
