Fitment Notes

• Designed for stock OEM connecting rods only - will NOT fit aftermarket H-beam or I-beam connecting rods, which use a larger 9mm bolt (ARP 208-6401)
• Replaces the factory 8mm OEM rod bolt - a critical upgrade for any build exceeding 6,400 RPM, where stock rod bolts are known to stretch and fail
• Essential for LS-VTEC (B18A/B block + B16/B18C head) and B20-VTEC builds - these hybrid combinations rely on B18A/B or B20 rods with 8mm bolts
• ARP recommends using a stretch gauge for installation - stretch target: 0.0048-0.0052 in.; torque spec: 26 ft-lbs with ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant
• Adequate chamfer at the top of each rod bolt hole is required to clear the underhead radius

The ARP 208-6001 is a High Performance Series connecting rod bolt kit for Honda and Acura engines using the OEM 8mm M8 rod bolt, covering the D15, D16, B18A, B18B, and B20 engine families. These engines share a common weakness: the factory 8mm rod bolt is undersized for sustained high-RPM operation and is a well-documented failure point in performance builds. ARP rod bolts are the standard first step in any serious D-Series, LS-VTEC, or B20-VTEC build - if the engine will be run beyond 6,400 RPM, upgrading the rod bolts with this kit is strongly recommended before any other bottom-end work.

Made from 8740 chromoly steel rated at 200,000 psi, these bolts are nearly five times stronger than OEM with threads rolled after heat treatment for exceptional fatigue life. These are designed for stock OEM connecting rods only - aftermarket rods typically use larger 9mm bolts (ARP 208-6401).
