The ARP 206-4201 is a Pro Series cylinder head stud kit for BMC/Triumph A-Series engines with a 9-stud head bolt pattern. ARP Pro Series head studs are the gold standard for engine builders -- virtually every top professional engine builder relies on ARP for their competition powerplants, and for good reason. ARP uses only premium-grade 8740 chromoly alloy steel rated far superior to standard "aircraft quality" alloy steels. Each stud is cold-forged for molecular integrity, then heat-treated to 200,000 PSI using a precise vertical racking process that ensures complete and uniform heat penetration -- far superior to the basket heat-treat methods used by lesser manufacturers.

Following heat-treat, each stud is centerless ground through approximately ten very slight cuts to achieve near-perfect concentricity -- allowing gaskets and cylinder heads to glide into position with perfect alignment. Critically, ARP threads are rolled after heat-treat, which delivers approximately 2,000% better fatigue strength than studs threaded before heat-treat, a common cost-cutting industry practice. The kit includes 12-point nuts for easy installation access in tight engine bay spaces and hardened parallel washers that ensure even load distribution and accurate torque readings across all nine studs.
