Product Description

The ARP 207-5401 is a complete main stud kit engineered for Mitsubishi 4G63 and 4G63T engines, covering the Lancer Evolution I-IX, 1G/2G DSM Eclipse GST/GSX, Eagle Talon TSi, Plymouth Laser RS Turbo, and Galant VR4. It replaces the factory 2-bolt main cap hardware across both 6-bolt and 7-bolt crank variants. By converting to studs, the kit eliminates main cap walk and fretting - critical failure modes in high-boost turbocharged builds - while also protecting the engine block threads from repeated torque cycling.

Each stud is cold-forged from premium 8740 chrome moly steel, heat-treated in-house to 190,000 psi tensile strength, and precision J-form threaded after heat-treat for thread strength up to 1000% greater than conventional cut threads. The kit includes 10 studs, 10 hardened parallel-ground washers, 10 12-point nuts, and ARP Ultra-Torque assembly lube for consistent torque readings. Torque in three steps to 60 ft-lbs using the included lube. ARP recommends align honing the block following stud installation.
