The ARB ARB2018 is ARB's updated Soft Connect Shackle - a 14.5T (31,967 lb) breaking strength synthetic soft shackle manufactured from CE certified, high tensile UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecule Weight Polyethylene) rope to ISO 2307. In a recovery situation, the ARB Soft Connect Shackle acts as a safety fuse: it is engineered to break before the rated metal components it connects to, eliminating the risk of flying metal projectiles that can cause serious injury when a steel shackle fails under load. For any vehicle recovery kit, replacing a traditional steel D-ring with a quality soft shackle is one of the most meaningful safety upgrades available.
