The Old Man Emu CS035RA is a Dakar series rear leaf spring designed for 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ models, providing an estimated 2 inches (50mm) of lift over stock ride height. This medium load spring is engineered for vehicles carrying additional weight from aftermarket accessories such as bumpers, winches, roof racks, and camping gear. The 4+1 leaf pack features a two-stage design that rides primarily on the softer primary stage when unladen for comfortable daily driving, with the secondary stage engaging under heavier loads for additional support. Each leaf is draw-tapered and diamond-cut to progressively distribute load over a larger surface area, reducing the high stresses that develop at leaf ends. The tension side of all leaves is shot peened to reduce spring stress and extend service life, while the full pack is scragged during manufacturing to resist long-term sagging. Military wrap design provides added safety, and re-greasable nylon interleaf anti-friction pads reduce friction at the leaf tips. Leaf spring bushings and U-bolts are not included and must be purchased separately. Old Man Emu offers the OMESB109 leaf spring bushing kit and OMEU57 or OMEU60 U-bolt kits for this application.
