Product Description

The Old Man Emu 2797 is a pair of front lift coil springs engineered specifically for the 1997-2001 1st generation Honda CR-V (RD chassis) in both 2WD and 4WD configurations -- covering LX, EX, and SE trims with the 2.0L I4 engine. Old Man Emu has been the gold standard for 4WD suspension since 1975, and these springs apply OME's deep off-road and overlanding pedigree to the surprisingly capable Gen 1 CR-V platform -- delivering approximately 1" of front lift to close the wheel-well gap, raise the front end for improved approach angles, and give the CR-V the stance and load capacity needed for light off-road duty, camping, and overlanding use. While the lift is the visible benefit, OME's primary engineering focus is ride control improvement: better damping response, reduced front-end dive under braking, and consistent ride quality whether the vehicle is empty or fully loaded with gear, passengers, and recovery equipment.

Construction features micro-alloyed spring steel selected for superior resistance to both sagging and corrosion over the long service life expected of overlanding equipment, with a double-scragged manufacturing process that reduces internal spring stress and significantly extends usable life. The finish is powder-coated for added corrosion protection. Designed as part of OME's integrated 4WD suspension philosophy, these front springs deliver their best performance when paired with the matching rear coil set (OME 2798) and matched OME shock absorbers (sold separately) -- though they bolt up directly to factory shocks for those upgrading in stages. Important fitment note: some Gen 1 CR-Vs were factory-equipped with LH (left-hand) wound springs -- these OME 2797 springs will not fit those applications, so check your factory spring direction before ordering. A suspension alignment is required after installation. Backed by ARB's industry-leading 36-month / 37,000-mile limited warranty on OME suspension products.
