The AMS Performance AMS.01.04.0104-1 is a -3AN stainless steel braided remote oil pressure sending unit line for Mitsubishi 4G63 and 4B11 turbocharged engines, covering the full range of DSM and Lancer Evolution platforms from 1990 through 2015. It is a required companion piece when installing any aftermarket oil pressure gauge or sending unit on these platforms if long-term reliability is a concern.

The standard practice of threading an aftermarket oil pressure sending unit directly into the oil filter housing is convenient but carries a well-documented risk: the sustained high-frequency vibration generated by a 4G63 or 4B11 at elevated RPM gradually fatigues the sensor's mounting threads and body. A broken or cracked sender at the oil filter housing results in an immediate, uncontrolled oil discharge - one that can drain the sump in seconds, collapse oil pressure across the engine, and cause catastrophic bearing failure before the driver has time to react. The AMS remote mount line resolves this by relocating the sending unit to a low-vibration mounting location, with a short 12-inch braided line bridging the gap from the oil filter housing port to the sensor. The stainless steel braid protects against abrasion and corrosion, and the steel 1/8 in. NPT fittings at each end provide secure, leak-free connections compatible with virtually all aftermarket oil pressure senders on the market.
