The AMP Research 77364-01A PowerStep XL is the electric running board system engineered for the 2025-2026 RAM 1500, including the RAM RHO. The PowerStep XL is AMP Research's purpose-built solution for trucks where additional step-down distance beyond the standard PowerStep is needed - the XL's boards deploy 4 inches lower than the original PowerStep, placing the stepping surface at a meaningfully lower position that makes boarding significantly easier on lifted, leveled, or high-clearance RAM 1500 builds without requiring the truck itself to be modified.

The defining visual feature of the PowerStep XL versus the standard PowerStep is the integrated rocker rail housing. When the boards retract, they fold into this housing - which spans the rocker panel area and gives the truck a rugged, built-out side profile while also providing light rock and debris protection to the rocker panels when driving. The housing is a departure from the standard PowerStep's flush-under-the-body retraction and is part of what makes the XL particularly well-suited to off-road and trail-oriented truck builds. When any door opens, the boards extend automatically from the housing within seconds. They retract approximately 3 seconds after all doors close.
