Fitment Notes

• Fits Mid Bed (6'6") and Long Bed (8') configurations ONLY - does NOT fit Short Bed (5'8") models on any covered Silverado 1500 or Sierra 1500 trim or cab style
• The BedStep2 mounts between the cab and the rear wheel well, forward of the rear tire - this mounting position requires sufficient clearance in the mid/long bed wheel well area; short bed configurations do not provide this clearance
• One step is included per kit - the step can be installed on either the driver side or the passenger side of the truck; the desired side is selected at time of installation, not at order
• No drilling is required for installation on covered 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 applications - all vehicle-specific brackets and hardware are included

The AMP Research 75416-01A BedStep2 is a retractable, foot-activated truck bed side step designed specifically for 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks equipped with a mid (6'6") or long (8') bed. It addresses a practical daily frustration for truck bed users: getting in and out of a high-riding pickup bed safely, with hands full of tools or gear, without climbing the rear tire or awkwardly vaulting onto the tailgate. The BedStep2 installs between the cab and the rear wheel - forward of the tire - on either the driver or passenger side of the truck, using vehicle-specific frame brackets that require no drilling on covered applications.

Operation is entirely hands-free. A downward kick of the foot deploys the step from its retracted position; an upward nudge retracts it. This keeps both hands available for carrying equipment when stepping up into the bed - a practical advantage for anyone regularly loading gear, working from a toolbox mounted at the front of the bed, or accessing cargo that requires climbing over the bedrail. The step pad features a deep-stamped tread pattern for non-slip footing in all conditions, and the step is engineered to handle up to 300 lbs. of load. All pivot joints use precision stainless steel pins and maintenance-free self-lubricating bushings, ensuring smooth deployment and retraction through seasonal temperature extremes and exposure to mud, salt, and water.

Fitment is restricted to mid and long bed configurations - the short bed (5'8") does not provide the cab-to-wheel-well clearance required for this mounting position and is not supported.
