Fitment Notes

• Fits AAM 9.25-inch, 14-bolt front axle only - 4WD models. Does not fit 2WD RAM 2500/3500.
• Gasket is NOT included - requires Dodge OE gasket P/N 5086682AA (sold separately). RTV sealant is included as an alternative option.
• Optional kit with gear oil included is available separately as P/N 46-70042-WL.
• If the vehicle has been lifted or the axle has been rotated, verify the oil level sight glass calibration plug position against the actual fluid level before use.
• Does not require a CARB EO number.

Product Description

The aFe 46-70042 Pro Series Front Differential Cover is a direct bolt-in upgrade for 2003-2013 Dodge RAM 2500 and 2003-2012 RAM 3500 trucks equipped with 4WD and the AAM 9.25-inch 14-bolt front axle. It replaces the factory stamped steel cover with a die-cast A380 aluminum unit featuring reinforced internal ribs, built-in external machined cooling fins, and an expanded fluid capacity of approximately 3-1/2 quarts - a full quart more than the factory cover - providing improved thermal management for trucks used in demanding towing, hauling, or off-road conditions.

The deep-reach magnetic drain and fill plugs capture fine metallic particles that circulate in the differential fluid before they can cause wear to the ring and pinion or bearings - a significant advantage over the factory steel cover which has no magnetic protection. The pre-installed large oil level sight glass with calibration plug is set to the factory fluid level at the factory line, eliminating the risk of overfilling during fluid changes. Note: the Dodge OE gasket (P/N 5086682AA) is not included - RTV silicone sealant is provided as an alternative. The optional 46-70042-WL kit includes gear oil.
