Fitment Notes

• This is a complete set of 4 shocks - 2 front and 2 rear - covering all four corners of the C7 Corvette.
• C7 Corvette models equipped with Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) electronic shock absorbers require an additional Electronic Shock Delete module before installing these shocks. Order PN: 436-401002-N separately. Without this module, a body control module check engine light will limit vehicle speed to 80 mph.
• C7 models without Magnetic Ride Control (base passive dampers) install directly with no additional components required.
• All OEM mounting points are retained - no suspension geometry modifications, extended control arms, or custom hardware are required. Installation can be performed with standard tools in a home garage.

The aFe CONTROL 420-401002-J is the Johnny O'Connell Signature Series complete shock set for the 2014-2019 Chevrolet Corvette C7 - a full set of four monotube shock absorbers developed, valved, and tuned in collaboration with Johnny O'Connell, the four-time American Le Mans Series GT class champion and longtime GM factory Corvette racing driver. These shocks were designed from the ground up to address the known limitations of the C7's OEM passive dampers: specifically, the harsh high-speed behavior that makes the factory setup feel punishing on rough pavement and less settled in sustained cornering transitions. The revised damping curve removes that harshness while adding meaningful chassis platform - keeping the car flatter and better planted through corners, slalom sequences, and road course inputs - without sacrificing the daily-drivability expected from a car that also serves as a grand tourer.

The monotube construction with internal floating piston is a key technical differentiator over typical replacement dampers. By separating the oil and gas charge with a floating piston, the design prevents cavitation and maintains consistent damping forces even under sustained thermal load - an important characteristic for track use and aggressive spirited driving where repeated hard braking and corner entry cycles can overheat and fade twin-tube shocks. All four shocks are direct bolt-on replacements, retaining every OEM mounting point and hardware interface on the C7 chassis.
