Vehicle Fitment

  • Universal - compatible with any EFI-equipped vehicle or race car running an aftermarket return-style fuel system with -6 AN (-06 AN) fuel line. Designed for use with Aeromotive A1000-series and smaller fuel pumps in street performance and dedicated race applications.
  • This product is not legal for sale or use on emissions-controlled vehicles except as a direct OEM-spec replacement. It is intended for race vehicles, pre-pollution-control vehicles (1965 and older California-certified, 1967 and older federally-certified), and closed-course competition use only.

Fitment Notes

  • All three ports - inlet, outlet, and return - are -6 AN (AN-06). This makes the 13147 appropriate for builds where the entire fuel feed and return system uses -6 AN line throughout, simplifying hose and fitting selection. Builds using -10 AN feed lines with a -6 AN return should instead use the companion PN 13146, which features AN-10 inlet/outlet ports and an AN-06 return.
  • A dedicated 1/8" NPT gauge port is built into the regulator body, allowing a fuel pressure gauge or sender to be installed directly on the unit without T-fittings or additional adapters in the fuel line.
  • The 13147 is compatible with Aeromotive mounting brackets PN 12305 and PN 12701, both sold separately. These brackets allow the combo unit to be mounted to the firewall, chassis rail, or other flat surfaces in the engine bay or fuel system area.
  • The 10-micron cellulose filter element is a post-pump fine filter. It must be positioned on the outlet (pressure) side of the fuel pump - never on the inlet side. On the inlet side, a coarse 100-micron pre-filter is required to prevent pump starvation; Aeromotive's 12332 (ORB-12) or 12331 (ORB-10) shutoff valve filters are appropriate for that upstream position.
  • The filter element is a replaceable cellulose type. When a replacement element is needed, use Aeromotive PN 12650 (10-micron microglass, fits all 2" OD Aeromotive filter housings).

Features

  • The 13147 combines two components that are traditionally installed separately - the post-pump fuel filter and the fuel pressure regulator - into a single compact unit. This eliminates the separate filter housing, its associated fittings, and the fuel line segment that would otherwise connect the filter outlet to the regulator inlet. The result is a shorter, simpler fuel system with fewer potential leak points and an easier installation process, particularly in cramped engine bays where routing two separate components would require additional planning.
  • Combining the filter and regulator also reduces the total length of the return fuel line. In a conventional return-style EFI system, the regulator is typically installed near the fuel rail - the farthest point from the fuel tank. By combining filter and regulator at or near the pump outlet location, the return line run back to the tank is shortened, reducing both material cost and the complexity of routing the return line through the chassis.
  • The adjustable EFI regulator is set from the factory for typical EFI operating pressure and can be adjusted across a 40-75 PSI range to match the specific base fuel pressure requirements of the engine management system and injectors in use. This covers the full operating range of most EFI systems from mild performance builds through high-horsepower naturally aspirated and moderately boosted applications.
  • The unit is designed specifically for the Aeromotive A1000 and all smaller Aeromotive electric fuel pump models. These pumps flow at levels that match the flow capacity of the integrated filter and regulator without creating restriction. Using this combo with larger Aeromotive pumps (Eliminator, Pro-Series Brushless) may result in inadequate flow capacity through the -6 AN ports for those applications.
  • The 10-micron cellulose element provides fine post-pump filtration, capturing particulates that pass the upstream coarse pre-filter before they reach the fuel rail and injectors. At 10 microns, this is fine enough to protect modern EFI injectors with tight internal tolerances from fuel contamination damage.

Product Description

The Aeromotive 13147 is an EFI Fuel Pressure Regulator and Filter Combo - a single unit that integrates an adjustable EFI regulator (40-75 PSI) and a 10-micron post-pump fuel filter into one compact assembly with -6 AN ports on all three connections: inlet, outlet, and return. It is designed for street performance and race vehicles running A1000-series and smaller Aeromotive fuel pumps in return-style EFI fuel systems.

The fundamental advantage of the combo design is simplification. A conventional return-style EFI system requires a post-pump filter and a separate regulator, connected by a fuel line segment, with the regulator typically positioned near the fuel rail at the far end of the fuel system. The 13147 eliminates the separate filter housing and its connecting fittings, and allows the combined filter/regulator to be positioned closer to the pump, shortening the return line run back to the fuel tank. Fewer components, fewer fittings, fewer potential leak points, and a shorter return line are the practical outcomes of a well-executed installation.

All port connections are -6 AN, making this the appropriate choice for builds where the fuel feed and return are both plumbed in -6 AN line. Builds using -10 AN feed lines should instead use the companion PN 13146 (AN-10 inlet/outlet, AN-06 return). The 10-micron cellulose element is replaceable - use Aeromotive PN 12650 when servicing. Compatible with Aeromotive mounting brackets 12305 and 12701 (sold separately). Not legal for emissions-controlled vehicles. Warranty: 1 year from purchase date with proof.
