Vehicle Fitment

  • Universal - compatible with any forced induction vehicle running a water/methanol injection system. Functions as a standalone replacement pump for most existing WMI kits or as the pump foundation for a custom DIY water/methanol injection build.

Fitment Notes

  • This is a standalone pump only. It does not include a fluid tank, nozzle, controller, or tubing. It is intended as a replacement for a failed or inadequate pump in an existing water/methanol injection system, or as the pump component in a custom-built WMI setup.
  • The pump uses 1/4" push-lock style hose fittings built into the pump body for a compact installation. Optional 3/8" NPT fittings are available separately for compatibility with larger-diameter line setups.
  • AEM recommends running this pump with an AEM inline fluid filter (PN 30-3003) upstream of the pump to prevent contamination from reaching the pump internals and nozzle.
  • Maximum methanol concentration: 50%. AEM strongly recommends never exceeding a 50:50 water-to-methanol ratio. Concentrations above 50% methanol can damage the system's flow sensor and void its warranty. The pump itself, fittings, lines, and nozzles are chemically compatible with methanol at any concentration, but the safety risks of running high-concentration or neat methanol in an under-hood environment make dilution essential.
  • California emissions status: This pump is legal for use in California on competition/racing vehicles only - vehicles which may never be registered or used on a public road or highway. All other use may render the vehicle non-compliant with California emissions regulations. Users in other states should verify local regulations before street use.

Features

  • Recirculation-style design with an internal bypass circuit allows the pump to run continuously at all times rather than switching on and off in response to pressure demand. This eliminates the erratic on/off pulsing that is characteristic of older switched-style WMI pumps, resulting in consistent line pressure and predictable, repeatable flow rates to the injection nozzle at all operating conditions.
  • The continuous-run recirculation design also maximizes available line pressure, as the pump is never spending time building from zero pressure at the start of each on-cycle. Higher and more stable line pressures improve fluid atomization at the nozzle - a critical factor in effective intercooling and charge cooling from water/methanol injection.
  • Significantly quieter and smoother in operation than switched-style pumps, as the motor runs at a steady state without the mechanical and acoustic impact of repeated switching cycles.
  • Santoprene diaphragm and EPDM seals are selected specifically for compatibility with alcohol-water mixes. These materials resist degradation and swelling from methanol exposure, providing long service life in the chemically aggressive WMI environment. This is the same sealing technology used in AEM's full WMI kit pumps.
  • Built-in 1/4" push-lock fittings provide a compact, leak-resistant connection to standard WMI hose without additional adapters or fittings for most installations.
  • Mounting bracket included for straightforward installation in engine bay or trunk.

Product Description

The AEM 30-3015 is a standalone 200 PSI recirculation-style water/methanol injection pump. It is designed for use as a replacement pump in most existing WMI systems from any manufacturer, or as the pump component in a custom water/methanol injection build. It is not a complete kit - it does not include a tank, nozzle, controller, or tubing.

The recirculation design is the key engineering difference between this pump and older switched-style WMI pumps. Rather than switching on when flow is demanded and off when pressure is achieved, this pump runs continuously using an internal bypass to recirculate fluid when flow to the nozzle is not required. The result is stable, consistent line pressure at all times - which translates directly into predictable nozzle flow rates and improved fluid atomization compared to the variable pressure environment of a switched pump. The Santoprene diaphragm and EPDM seals are selected specifically for long-term compatibility with methanol-water mixtures, resisting degradation that would occur with standard rubber or silicone sealing materials.

Important use notes: AEM strongly recommends a maximum of 50% methanol concentration in the injection fluid. Concentrations above this threshold can damage the flow sensor in AEM WMI systems and create safety hazards - methanol is toxic, highly flammable, and burns with a nearly invisible flame in daylight conditions. AEM also recommends pairing this pump with an AEM inline WMI filter (PN 30-3003) to prevent particulate contamination from reaching the pump and nozzle. This pump is California competition/race use only and is not legal for street use in California or states adopting California emissions standards.
