Vehicle Fitment

Fitment Notes

• Requires a 1/8"-27 PTF (NPT) threaded port in the coolant passage, oil gallery, oil pan, intake manifold water port, transmission cooler line, or other fluid circuit. A brass or aluminum 1/8" NPT bung (not included) may need to be welded or plumbed into the circuit if no factory port exists.
• Install using a calibrated torque wrench - torque to 13.5 Nm / 10 ft-lbs. Use thread sealant on the NPT threads as needed.
• Wiring requires crimping pins onto 22AWG TXL wire with a Delphi 12039500 crimper or equivalent. Strip wire to 0.175"-0.200" before crimping. A 2.2kΩ pull-up resistor is required between the signal wire and the 5V supply - this is typically built into AEM gauges and ECU analog inputs.
• Polarity does not matter on this two-wire sensor - either wire can go to signal or ground.

Product Description

The AEM 30-2012 is a universal 1/8" NPT fluid temperature sensor kit for monitoring water, coolant, oil, or any other fluid circuit requiring temperature data in the -40°C to 200°C (-40°F to 392°F) range. It is the most commonly used sensor in AEM's temperature sensor family, designed to thread directly into the 1/8" NPT ports found on the majority of aftermarket gauge bungs, OEM sensor bosses, and custom fabricated fluid fittings.

The NTC thermistor design delivers better than ±2°C accuracy on a standard 5V reference supply - compatible with AEM's X-Series Temperature Gauge, AEM digital dash products, and virtually every aftermarket ECU and data logger that accepts a 5V analog thermistor input. The kit includes the sensor, weatherproof mating connector, connector lock, and three crimp pins for custom wiring, allowing installation without sourcing additional hardware. Wiring is polarity-independent. A 2.2kΩ pull-up resistor between the signal wire and 5V supply is required and is typically integrated into AEM and most OEM ECU analog inputs.
