Vehicle Fitment

  • Universal - compatible with any carbureted or fuel-injected vehicle, engine management system, or data acquisition setup requiring absolute pressure (PSIa/MAP) monitoring up to 3.5 Bar / 50 PSIa
  • Suitable for use with AEM gauges, AEM X-Series displays, aftermarket ECUs, data loggers, and any system accepting a 0.5-4.5V linear pressure signal on a 5V reference supply
  • Designed for naturally aspirated and turbocharged/supercharged applications requiring manifold pressure, boost pressure reference, or vacuum monitoring

Fitment Notes

  • Requires a 1/8"-NPT threaded port in the intake manifold, boost reference line, or fluid circuit. A 1/8" NPT bung welded or plumbed into the target location may be required if no factory port exists.
  • PSIa (Absolute) vs. PSIg (Gauge): This is an absolute pressure sensor referenced to absolute zero - not atmospheric pressure. At sea level, the sensor will read approximately 14.7 PSI when exposed to open atmosphere. This makes it capable of measuring vacuum (below atmospheric), full barometric reference, and boost simultaneously from a single sensor. If you only need to read pressure above atmospheric (oil pressure, fuel pressure, etc.) a PSIg gauge-style sensor is the appropriate choice.
  • Brass vs. Stainless Steel: AEM characterizes their brass sensors as "ruler" accuracy (±3% full scale) - appropriate for boost gauge display and pressure monitoring. For ECU MAP sensor input requiring tighter accuracy for calibration, AEM's stainless steel 30-2130-50 (±0.5% full scale) is the recommended choice. Both use 304L/316L stainless steel wetted materials for fluid compatibility.
  • Installation torque: use standard NPT thread installation practices with appropriate thread sealant.

Features

  • 3.5 Bar / 50 PSIa Absolute Pressure Range: Covers the full range from vacuum through atmospheric and up to approximately 35.3 PSIg (~2.4 Bar) of boost above sea-level atmospheric pressure - making it suitable for monitoring high-boost forced induction applications while retaining vacuum sensing capability for manifold pressure monitoring across the full engine operating range.
  • 0.5-4.5V DC Linear Output: Ratiometric linear output on a 5V reference is compatible with virtually all aftermarket ECUs, standalone gauges, and data loggers. The linear transfer function makes sensor data easy to scale and interpret in any logging or display software with a standard pressure calibration table.
  • Fast Response Time - Less Than 1ms: Sub-millisecond response time ensures the sensor tracks transient pressure changes - including boost spikes, throttle blips, and rapid manifold pressure transitions - without lag that could compromise monitoring or gauge display accuracy.
  • Brass Sensor Body with Stainless Wetted Materials: The brass housing provides durable, corrosion-resistant construction. The internal wetted materials are 304L and 316L stainless steel - compatible with automotive fuels, oils, coolants, and boost reference applications. High-quality sealing makes the sensor virtually impervious to automotive fluids.
  • Weatherproof Integral Connector with Pins Included: The mating connector, crimp terminal pins, and connector pin lock are included in the kit - allowing custom wire length and routing without sourcing additional hardware. Three-wire connection: 5V supply, sensor ground, and 0.5-4.5V signal output.
  • Wide Operating Temperature Range: Rated for -40°C to 105°C (-40°F to 221°F) - covering the full range of underhood and boost reference line temperatures encountered in street, track, and competition environments.
  • Vibration Resistant: Rated for 100-2000Hz, 20g sinusoidal vibration on three axes - suitable for high-vibration engine and race car environments without signal degradation or mechanical failure.

Product Description

The AEM 30-2131-50 is a 3.5 Bar / 50 PSIa absolute pressure sensor kit in brass - AEM's boost gauge and pressure monitoring sensor for manifold absolute pressure applications up to approximately 35 PSIg of boost above sea-level atmospheric pressure. As an absolute (PSIa) sensor, it reads referenced to absolute zero rather than atmospheric pressure, allowing it to measure vacuum, barometric pressure, and boost simultaneously from a single sensor - making it ideal for manifold pressure monitoring across the full engine operating range on both naturally aspirated and forced-induction engines.

The 0.5-4.5V linear output on a 5V reference is compatible with virtually all aftermarket gauge displays, ECU analog inputs, and data loggers. AEM recommends the brass 30-2131-50 for display and monitoring applications (±3% accuracy), while their stainless steel 30-2130-50 (±0.5%) is recommended for ECU calibration where tighter accuracy is required. The kit includes the sensor, weatherproof mating connector, crimp pins, and pin lock for custom wiring. Universal 1/8" NPT fitment. 12-month warranty.
