Fitment Notes

• Critical: Flywheel compatibility is VIN-dependent for 2018 model year WRX - verify your VIN before ordering. Midway through the 2018 model year, Subaru upgraded the WRX clutch from 230mm to 240mm (per Subaru TSB 03-79-18R). Because the two sizes use different bolt patterns, this kit must be matched to the correct production date using the last seven digits of the VIN:
• VIN below J*806877: Your WRX has the original 230mm factory clutch setup. This kit (ACR-1817) is directly compatible with your existing OEM flywheel - no additional parts are required for installation.
• VIN J*806877 or higher: Your WRX has the updated 240mm factory clutch setup. This kit is NOT compatible with your factory flywheel in its current state. You must also purchase and install the Action Clutch AC105FW flywheel alongside this kit to convert the system back to the 230mm configuration; without the AC105FW, this clutch will not fit correctly.
• This kit fits 2015-2018 WRX only - it does NOT fit the WRX STI (EJ257 engine), the 2019+ WRX (which uses a different clutch configuration), or any WRX model with an automatic transmission
• A flywheel is NOT included with this kit - the existing OEM flywheel must be in serviceable condition (resurface or replace as needed), or the AC105FW must be purchased separately for late 2018 VINs; failure to resurface the flywheel will void the product warranty
• This kit is not recommended for drag racing or drifting - the Kevlar disc is optimized for street durability and road/circuit track use; for drag or drift applications, a Stage 3 or higher ceramic kit is more appropriate

The segmented Kevlar disc delivers Action Clutch's longest wear life of any single-disc option, with superior heat resistance and consistent engagement across a wide operating temperature range compared to standard organic friction materials. The 110% increase in torque capacity over factory comfortably accommodates the power levels typical of bolt-on FA20DIT builds with an aftermarket intake, turbo-back exhaust, intercooler, and an Accessport tune. The 1,000-mile break-in period for Kevlar discs is longer than the 500-mile requirement for organic kits - this extended break-in is normal for Kevlar and should be completed before hard track use or boost to ensure proper seating and maximum holding capacity.

2018 VIN attention required: Subaru changed the WRX clutch diameter from 230mm to 240mm partway through the 2018 model year (per TSB 03-79-18R). WRX owners with a VIN at or above J*806877 must also purchase the Action Clutch AC105FW flywheel to use this kit - without it, the 230mm disc will not properly mate to the 240mm factory flywheel. Owners with a VIN below J*806877 can install directly onto the factory flywheel after resurfacing. A flywheel is not included. This kit is not suitable for drag racing or drifting applications.
