Vehicle Fitment

  • Nissan RB25DE - 2.5L DOHC Inline-6 (Naturally Aspirated)
  • Nissan RB25DET - 2.5L DOHC Inline-6 Turbo
  • Nissan RB26DETT - 2.6L DOHC Inline-6 Twin Turbo

Fitment Notes

  • Fitment covers all RB25DE and RB25DET applications (Nissan Skyline R32/R33/R34, Stagea, Laurel, Cedric/Gloria) and all RB26DETT applications (Nissan Skyline GT-R R32/R33/R34).
  • Standard (STD) crankshaft journal size - for use with stock diameter rod journals only. Undersized variants (.025mm, .25mm, .50mm) are required for reground or undersize cranks.
  • The "HX" designation indicates extra oil clearance: wall thickness is approximately 0.025mm (0.001") thinner than the standard "H" bearing, providing additional running clearance at assembly. Recommended for high-performance and forced-induction builds where increased oil flow to the rod journals is desired.
  • Sold as a complete set of 6 bearings - sufficient for one full engine build.

Features

  • Tri-metal construction: copper-lead alloy lining bonded over a hardened steel backing, with a high-strength overlay plate - engineered for the elevated loads, temperatures, and RPM demands of built RB-series engines.
  • Hardened steel backing on all rod bearings improves structural support of the bearing lining and maintains crush under sustained high-load and high-temperature conditions.
  • High-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness provides improved fatigue resistance compared to standard OEM-spec bearings - critical in forced-induction and high-boost applications.
  • Increased bearing crush and tighter wall tolerances ensure consistent, secure seating in the connecting rod housing bore, reducing the risk of bearing spin.
  • Enlarged ID chamfers on bearing edges accommodate larger crankshaft fillet radii commonly found on performance and aftermarket crankshafts.
  • 3/4-groove design optimizes oil supply to the rod journal and maximizes load-carrying surface area across the bearing face.
  • Elimination of flash plating on the bearing back improves heat transfer through the shell and maximizes grip between the bearing and rod housing bore.
  • Increased eccentricity compensates for bore distortion at high RPM and assists in the formation of a hydrodynamic oil film - a critical factor in race and high-performance street applications.

Product Description

The ACL Race Series 6B2960HX-STD connecting rod bearing set is a purpose-built performance solution for the Nissan RB25DE, RB25DET, and RB26DETT Inline-6 engines - covering the full range of Skyline GT-R, Skyline GTS, Stagea, and related RB-platform applications. The "HX" designation sets this set apart from the standard "H" variant: at standard crankshaft journal diameter, the slightly thinner wall provides approximately 0.025mm (0.001") of additional oil clearance at assembly, increasing oil film thickness between the journal and bearing surface. This is especially valuable in high-boost, high-revving, or track-driven RB builds where thermal expansion, oil viscosity, and extreme journal loading demand a controlled increase in running clearance.

Constructed from a tri-metal copper-lead alloy with a hardened steel backing and high-strength overlay, these bearings are engineered to handle the heat, RPM, and load cycles that defeat conventional OEM-spec bearings. Key race-spec features include tighter wall tolerances for consistent crush, enlarged ID chamfers for compatibility with performance crankshafts, a 3/4-groove oil feed design for maximized journal lubrication, and increased eccentricity to maintain a stable hydrodynamic oil film under bore distortion at high RPM. Sold as a complete set of 6 shells - one full engine's worth of rod bearings. Compatible with standard-diameter (unground) crankshaft rod journals; undersized variants are available for reground cranks.
