Product Description

The Rywire RY-RELAY-OBD1 is a plug-and-play main relay upgrade and kill switch harness for 1992 and later Honda and Acura vehicles. It directly addresses the most common failure point on older Hondas - the factory main relay, which sits in the heat of the dash and develops cracked solder joints over time, causing the fuel pump to stop priming and the car to fail to start. The Rywire harness replaces the OEM relay with a standard Bosch-style automotive relay that can be relocated to a cooler location and replaced at any parts store for a few dollars if it ever fails.

Beyond solving the relay failure issue, the harness includes an integrated removable kill switch that cuts power at the relay level. When the switch is unplugged, the vehicle cannot start - making it an effective anti-theft deterrent. The entire installation is reversible with no cutting or splicing of the factory harness required. The OBD1 version works on both OBD1 (1992-1995) and OBD2 chassis - for pre-1992 vehicles, the RY-RELAY-OBD0 version is required.
