Product Description

The Prothane 22-2008 is a complete Total Bushing Kit engineered for the MK1-platform Volkswagen models - the 1975-1984 Rabbit (Golf I), 1980-1984 Jetta I, 1975-1988 Scirocco, and 1979-1993 Cabriolet. Rather than sourcing individual bushing kits across multiple catalog categories, this single part number covers the entire MK1 chassis: front control arms, rear axle bushings, rear shock tower bushings, adjustable front strut bump stops, front and rear motor mount inserts, and rack and pinion bushings. Two left-side motor mount insert variants are included to accommodate both the 1976-1979 and 1980-1984 mount configurations.

Replacing worn OEM rubber with Prothane polyurethane eliminates the high-speed steering vibration and suspension slop that develops on aging MK1 platforms, while motor mount inserts reduce drivetrain movement and improve throttle response without the full harshness of solid mounts.
