Fitment Notes

• Fits the 6.0L V8 gasoline engine ONLY - does NOT fit the 6.6L Duramax diesel. The Duramax LML application uses a separate intake system (Volant Part #15366).
• Part number 15160 is the OILED MaxFlow Pro 5 filter variant. DryTech (15160D) and PowerCore (151606) filter variants are available separately - all three share the same intake box and duct components with different filter media.
• CARB Emissions Compliant - California Air Resources Board Executive Order #D-526-7 covers all three filter variants (oiled, DryTech, PowerCore) for all confirmed 6.0L V8 applications. Legal for use in California.

The Volant 15160 is a complete closed-box cold air intake system engineered specifically for the 2011-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD equipped with the 6.0L V8 gasoline engine in both 2WD and 4WD configurations. It replaces the factory rubber airbox, resonator, and inlet tubing with a vehicle-specifically sculptured cross-link polyethylene air duct assembly and an oversized enclosed cool-air box that draws ambient fender-side air rather than recirculating the warm underhood air these heavy-duty trucks generate. The larger cool-air box volume improves airflow consistency at the high engine loads typical of towing and hauling applications - exactly the operating conditions where the factory airbox becomes a restriction on the 6.0L V8.

Part number 15160 specifically denotes the oiled MaxFlow Pro 5 filter variant. The included Part #5119 filter is constructed from five layers of graduated cotton gauze pleated between aluminum screens, arrives pre-oiled from the factory, and is washable and reusable with service intervals up to 50,000 miles. Two additional filter variants are available for this same intake box - DryTech (15160D) for a soap-and-water maintainable dry filter, and PowerCore (151606) for Donaldson's 150,000-mile maintenance-free NanoFiber option - all using the same intake duct and box components.
