Product Description

The OMIX 17401.11 is a blue aluminum valve cover designed as a direct-fit upgrade for 1981-1987 Jeep CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler, and early Wrangler YJ models equipped with the 4.2L 258ci AMC inline six-cylinder engine. Compared to the original plastic cover, the aluminum construction provides improved heat dissipation and significantly better resistance to warping, cracking, and oil leaks that commonly develop on aging CJ valve covers. The bold blue anodized finish makes it a popular choice for restoration builds and engine bay refreshes alike.

This valve cover is sold individually and does not include a gasket - owners should pair it with OMIX 17447.05 for a complete installation. Torque bolts to 55 in-lb during installation; exceeding this specification can cause gasket damage. Owners with an 1980 or earlier CJ should note that fitment begins with the 1981 model year drivetrain.
