The Banks 35148-B Ram-Air Transmission Pan tackles one of the biggest threats to transmission longevity - heat - by bringing forced-air cooling technology derived from Banks' patented differential covers to the 10-speed Allison 10L1000. Its forward-facing scoop channels cool air from under the truck directly through external FlowThru Fins, dramatically increasing heat rejection compared to a stock pan.

Beyond cooling, this pan adds 3 additional quarts of fluid capacity, further reducing thermal stress on the transmission during heavy towing or hauling. The breakaway scoop design is a smart safety feature for off-road or low-clearance situations - if it strikes an obstacle and breaks away, it protects the rest of the pan from damage, and Banks will send a free replacement scoop. Combined with a ferrite magnetic drain plug and full-drain internal geometry, this pan is a serious upgrade for Duramax owners who tow or haul regularly and want to extend the life of their 10-speed Allison transmission.
