Fitment Notes

• Does NOT fit Jeep Wrangler JK models equipped with the factory OE subwoofer - the subwoofer assembly conflicts with tailgate installation.

Product Description

The Rampage 7342 Tailgate Stopper is a billet aluminum sliding arm device that mounts to the inside of the tailgate on 1987-2018 Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ, and JK models. Its primary function is to hold the tailgate open at a chosen position along an adjustable track - preventing the door from swinging closed when loading or unloading gear, particularly on slopes and uneven terrain where gravity works against you. The sliding arm locks firmly into place until manually released, giving the operator full control over where the tailgate rests.

Constructed from polished billet aluminum, the stopper is both lightweight and durable, resisting corrosion in off-road environments. Installation requires some drilling into the inside panel of the tailgate, and the process is rated as a moderate/advanced install typically completed in under an hour. Note that this part is not compatible with JK models equipped with the factory subwoofer. All mounting hardware is included.
