Product Description

The AMP Research 75162-01A PowerStep is a patented automatic electric-powered running board system designed for the 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma in both Double Cab and Access Cab configurations. When any door opens, the cab-length boards deploy outward and downward in approximately one second, presenting a wide 6.25-inch non-slip stepping surface that drops 7 to 9.5 inches below the rocker panel. Three seconds after the door closes, the boards retract flush beneath the cab -- preserving ground clearance, aerodynamics, and the truck's clean profile.

Construction centers on high-strength die-cast aluminum alloy boards with an anodized and PTFE-coated military-grade finish engineered to resist corrosion, oxidation, and abrasion. Precision stainless steel pivot pins and maintenance-free self-lubricating bushings ensure smooth, reliable operation in extreme conditions from -40°F to 200°F. Each board is rated to support a 600-pound load. Integrated low-profile LED courtesy lights illuminate the step surface and surrounding ground for safe entry and exit in low-visibility conditions, and Anti-Pinch technology provides an added layer of protection during retraction.

The kit includes both driver and passenger side boards, electric motors, all vehicle-specific mounting brackets and hardware, wiring, and a detailed installation guide. Some drilling is required for motor and LED mounting, and Access Cab models require minor trimming. AMP Research -- a RealTruck brand -- backs the PowerStep with a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty. Designed and engineered in the USA.
