• E46 325i/325Ci fitment is limited to vehicles with a production date up to 03/2003
• Does not fit E46 M3 (6-speed) - use 03CM2-series or 03040-series kits for E46 M3 applications
• Z3 models - Clutch Masters recommends upgrading to the E36 M3 slave cylinder for best clutch operation

Product Description

The Clutch Masters 03CM1-HDC6-SK is a complete FX400 series clutch and steel flywheel kit covering a wide range of BMW platforms from the mid-1990s through the mid-2000s, including the E36 M3, E46 non-M 3 Series, E39 5 Series, and Z3 roadsters equipped with 5-speed manual transmissions. With 170% more holding capacity than the factory clutch, this kit is built for BMW owners who have significantly modified their engines and need a clutch that can handle the additional torque without slipping, while still being manageable enough for spirited street driving and weekend track events.

The 6-puck ceramic sprung button disc uses a paddle-style friction surface that engages quickly and firmly while dissipating heat faster than organic or Kevlar materials. The sprung hub provides moderate dampening to absorb driveline vibration, making it more street-friendly than a rigid disc, though the 6-puck paddle design will produce some clutch chatter during low-speed engagement in first gear and reverse - this is normal behavior for a ceramic paddle disc and is not a defect. Clutch Masters uses only premium ceramic friction material to minimize this chatter while maintaining the highest possible holding capacity per unit of surface area.

The included steel single-mass flywheel replaces the factory dual-mass unit, eliminating the dual-mass flywheel's tendency to fail at high mileage or under high-torque loads while reducing rotational mass for improved throttle response. The Power Plus I pressure plate uses Clutch Masters' Hi-Leverage self-adjusting design to maximize clamping force with a controlled pedal effort, protecting the crankshaft thrust bearing from the dangerous overloading that cheaper heavy-duty pressure plates can cause. This kit is SFI certified for competition use and includes all necessary components - pressure plate, disc, flywheel, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing (where applicable), and alignment tool - for a complete, ready-to-install package. For the same fitment with an aluminum flywheel, use the 03CM1-HDC6-AK variant. For the clutch-only upgrade kit without a flywheel, use 03CM1-HDC6-X.
