Fitment Notes

• This bumper is not compatible with the Subaru Outback Wilderness trim. The Wilderness model uses a different front fascia and mounting architecture that is not interchangeable with the standard Outback mounting points this bumper is designed to use.
• This is the winch mount version of the Terra Guard bumper for the 2023-2025 Outback. The version without a winch mount is available as PN 79-27026. The winch mount version accommodates up to 4 auxiliary lights compared to up to 6 on the non-winch model, as the winch mount occupies the center section where additional light tabs would otherwise be positioned.
• Installation requires no drilling or cutting of the factory front end. The bumper uses the factory mounting points and attachment hardware locations of the 2023-2025 Outback front fascia. Removing the factory front bumper cover and installing the Terra Guard bumper completes the swap - no permanent modification to the vehicle structure is required.
• The winch (up to 5,500 lbs), recovery shackles, and auxiliary lights are not included and must be purchased separately. The compatible shackle pin diameter for the integrated recovery mounts is 3/4" (shackle body size 5/8").

Features

• The Terra Guard bumper replaces the factory front bumper cover with a heavy-gauge tubular steel structure - 1-1/2" outer diameter tubing with 1/8" wall thickness. This is significantly more robust than the factory injection-molded plastic fascia and provides meaningful impact protection for the front of the vehicle during off-road use, including trail obstacles, brush, and low-speed collisions with terrain features.
• The integrated winch mount is engineered to accommodate winches rated up to 5,500 lbs. The mount is built into the bumper's center section and transfers winch recovery loads directly into the bumper's tubular steel structure and through the mounting interface to the vehicle's frame mounting points - the correct load path for a winch recovery. A winch mount bolted to the factory plastic bumper has no adequate load path; the Terra Guard provides the structural foundation that winch recovery requires.
• Integrated recovery shackle mounts are welded into both ends of the bumper structure, accepting 5/8" recovery shackles with a 3/4" pin diameter. The shackle mounts allow the vehicle to be towed or winched from the front end by another recovery vehicle, secured to an anchor point, or connected to a kinetic recovery rope - all standard off-road recovery techniques that are not possible from the factory plastic bumper.
• Up to four 6-inch diameter auxiliary lights can be mounted using the integrated light tabs on the bumper. The light tabs allow the addition of driving lights, LED light bars (round format), or spot/flood auxiliary lights for improved forward visibility on trails and unlit roads. The light tab positions place auxiliary lights below the hood line and ahead of the grille, an optimal location for trail illumination.
• A front skid plate is included with the bumper. The skid plate provides underside protection for the front of the vehicle - covering the lower radiator and front crossmember area from rocks, debris, and trail obstacles that would contact the bottom of the front end when the vehicle's approach angle is used.
• The textured black powder coat finish provides corrosion resistance and a matte appearance consistent with off-road and overland vehicle aesthetics. Powder coat is more durable than spray paint and resists chipping and scratching better than liquid coatings in trail environments.

The integrated winch mount supports winches up to 5,500 lbs, providing the structural load path through the bumper and into the vehicle's frame-side mounting points that winch recovery requires. Integrated recovery shackle mounts on both ends of the bumper accept standard 5/8" recovery shackles (3/4" pin) for tow and anchor recovery connections. Four light tab positions accommodate up to four 6" round auxiliary lights for trail illumination. A front skid plate is included to protect the lower front end from rocks and debris during off-road use.

The non-winch-mount version of this bumper for the same generation Outback is PN 79-27026, which accommodates up to six auxiliary lights. Winch, shackles, and lights are not included.
