  • 1983-1990 Honda Prelude Base / 2.0 S / 2.0 Si (B20A3, B20A5, A18A1, FWD)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits Honda A-series and B-series non-VTEC engines sharing the same rod journal and pin specifications; verify engine code before ordering
  • STDX size = standard crankshaft diameter with +0.001" extra oil clearance - no crankshaft machining required
  • Preferred over standard STD clearance for performance and race builds targeting slightly looser oil clearance for improved flow and heat dissipation
  • Plain bearing halves (no dowel pin) - for doweled aluminum rod applications, see CR439XPDC STDX
  • Does not fit B18C1 or B18C5 VTEC engines - see CR4287XPC for those applications
  • CR439XPCSTDX directly replaces the previous CR 439XP STDX (non-coated); the XPC is the current production version

Features

  • pMaxKote nano-composite polymer coating applied as a factory fourth layer over pMax Black overlay - enhances wear, seizure, and cavitation resistance without adding wall thickness
  • pMax Black tri-metal overlay is 24% harder than conventional race bearings via a proprietary nano-scale molecular hardening process
  • 15-30% greater load capacity than traditional tri-metal bearings via SecureBond adhesion between overlay and intermediate layers
  • STDX extra clearance provides +0.001" additional oil clearance over STD - ideal for performance builds and high-heat applications
  • Narrowed crank cheek profile eliminates dangerous fillet ride on high-radius aftermarket crankshafts
  • Wall thickness tolerance held to ±0.0001" for shell-to-shell consistency and minimal selective fitting during assembly
  • Increased crush height improves bearing-to-bore contact and reduces spin potential at high RPM

Product Description

The King CR439XPCSTDX is a standard-diameter XPC-series connecting rod bearing set with +0.001" extra oil clearance, engineered for Honda and Acura A-series and B-series non-VTEC engines. This includes the B18A1 and B18B1 found in the Acura Integra GS/LS/RS, as well as the B20B/B20Z in the Honda CR-V, and A-series engines in the Accord and Prelude. The STDX sizing requires no crankshaft machining while delivering slightly more oil clearance than standard - making these the preferred choice for engine rebuilds where enhanced oil flow and reduced friction at the rod journal are prioritized over tight stock clearances.

The XPC designation means these bearings feature both King's pMax Black tri-metal overlay - 24% harder than conventional race bearings - and a factory-applied pMaxKote nano-composite polymer coating that acts as a fourth protective layer. This coating
