Vehicle / Engine Fitment

  • 2013-2017 Ford Fiesta ST MK6 - 1.6L EcoBoost Turbo DOHC 16V (JTJA / JTJB), 182 hp
  • 2013-2019 Ford Fiesta ST MK7 - 1.6L EcoBoost Turbo DOHC 16V (F1DA), 182 hp
  • Ford Focus 1.6L EcoBoost Turbo variants - 1.6L EcoBoost DOHC 16V, sharing the same 1.6L 4-cylinder block architecture
  • Ford Fiesta / Focus 1.6L Duratec naturally aspirated variants - 1.6L DOHC 16V, 105 hp, sharing the same connecting rod journal dimensions as the EcoBoost

Fitment Notes

  • Covers both the naturally aspirated 1.6L Duratec (105 hp) and the turbocharged 1.6L EcoBoost (182 hp) engine families - both share the same crankshaft journal and connecting rod big-end dimensions, enabling this single bearing application
  • Does NOT fit the Focus ST MK3 (2.0L EcoBoost / BYDA engine) - that is a larger displacement engine requiring a different bearing application
  • Does NOT fit the 1.0L EcoBoost three-cylinder engine (Fiesta, Focus, various) - that is a distinct engine with different journal dimensions
  • The H suffix denotes the ACL Race Series at standard oil clearance - not the extra-clearance HX variant; this is the correct choice for most performance rebuilds targeting OEM-clearance builds; consult your machine shop for final clearance selection before purchasing
  • This is a full set of 8 bearing halves for all 4 connecting rods; no additional bearings are required for a complete rod bearing service
  • The 1.6L EcoBoost uses torque-to-yield rod bolts that must not be reused; ARP rod bolt upgrades are strongly recommended when installing new rod bearings during any build

Features

  • ACL Race Series tri-metal construction - the unique combination of design, metallurgy, and engineering provides endurance and capability where OEM bearings cannot perform under sustained boost and elevated RPM
  • High-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness improves fatigue properties over OEM bearings, resisting the cyclic loading generated by the Fiesta ST's turbocharger under boost conditions
  • Hardened steel backing on all rod bearings provides a rigid, high-tensile foundation for the bearing lining, improving retention within the connecting rod housing bore under high radial loads
  • Increased bearing crush improves retention in the rod housing from higher radial contact pressure, also improving heat dissipation away from the bearing surface into the connecting rod
  • Flash plating eliminated from the bearing back to maximize grip between the bearing and its housing bore, and to improve heat transfer away from the bearing lining
  • Increased eccentricity - the gradual reduction in wall thickness from crown to parting line - compensates for connecting rod bore distortion at high RPM and assists in forming hydrodynamic oil films under dynamic engine loading
  • Precision micron-tolerance machining with measurement system verification ensures consistent wall thickness and crush across all 8 bearing halves for uniform oil clearance across all four cylinders
  • Motorsport proven since ACL's involvement in Brabham Formula 1 in the 1960s; the Race Series is the choice of builders competing in British Formula Ford (which uses the 1.6L EcoBoost engine) and endurance racing applications worldwide

Product Description

The ACL 4B7267H-STD is a full Race Series tri-metal connecting rod bearing set engineered for the Ford 1.6L Duratec and 1.6L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine family - spanning the naturally aspirated 105 hp Duratec through to the turbocharged 182 hp EcoBoost as found in the Ford Fiesta ST (MK6 2013-2017, MK7 2013-2019) and Ford Focus 1.6L models. Both engine variants share the same connecting rod journal dimensions, enabling one bearing application to serve the full range. ACL - headquartered in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia - has manufactured precision OEM and motorsport bearings for over 70 years, and the Race Series line is the same specification used in the British Formula Ford Championship, which has raced the 1.6L EcoBoost engine in recent seasons.

The H designation indicates standard oil clearance in the Race Series lineup - as distinct from the HX extra-clearance variant. This is the appropriate choice for precision engine rebuilds targeting OEM-spec clearances, street performance builds, and track-day or endurance-racing applications where predictable, consistent oil film formation is the priority. The tri-metal construction combines a hardened steel backing for structural rigidity and heat dissipation, a copper-lead intermediate layer for conformability and load distribution, and ACL's high-strength performance overlay with reduced thickness for improved fatigue life over OEM bearings. Increased crush ensures the bearing seats firmly and does not micro-move under the cyclic loads generated by the EcoBoost's turbocharger. All 8 bearing halves are precision-machined and verified for consistent wall thickness across the full set.

When installing these bearings in any 1.6L EcoBoost engine, it is important to note that the OEM torque-to-yield rod bolts must not be reused - ARP upgraded rod bolts are strongly recommended for any build involving bearing replacement. Additionally, because the 1.6L EcoBoost uses an open-deck aluminum block architecture, accurate bore measurement and Plastigage or dial bore gauge clearance verification is recommended before final assembly. Oversize options (4B7267H-.025 and 4B7267H-.25) are available for engines where the crankshaft has been reground. The extra-clearance HX variant (4B7267HX-STD) is available for builders targeting looser oil clearances for high-boost or high-RPM competition builds.
